In 1989, President and Owner Operator Val J. DePerrio founded the Dry Cleaner by Val. After two years in the dry cleaning business, Val saw a growing need for the restoration of textiles due to fire, soot, and water damage.
For over three decades, the company has specialized in clothing restoration, meeting the high demand in the insurance industry for quality service and competitive pricing. Over the years, we have developed a proprietary process of handling losses and a reputation for working efficiently and quickly with adjusters and insurance companies.
We have also built a culture that truly values our restoration professionals and employees. All of our managers have been with the company for at least 6 years.

Val DePerrio
President
Val DePerrio founded The Dry Cleaner by Val in 1989 as a retail dry cleaning facility in Newton, MA. Two years later, he made the decision to dedicate his company specifically to restoration dry cleaning. Val has grown the business to where it is today, along with Vice President, Richard Swanson. Currently, Val oversees the company’s finances, oversees billings and heads the marketing department. Val resides in North Reading, MA with his two daughters, Stacia and Raquel.
Richard Swanson
Vice President
Rich Swanson joined The Dry Cleaner by Val at the age of 21 and has been with the company since 1992. Due to the nature of the restoration dry cleaning business, Rich, along with Val, has amassed a wealth of knowledge regarding both the dry cleaning and insurance industries. His expertise makes him a strong, influential asset to the company. Rich is active in all sectors of the company and oversees day-to-day operations, as well as the office and production staff. Rich resides in North Reading, MA with his wife Gracielle (also an employee of the Dry Cleaner), son Roy, daughter Sophia, and their dog Chooch.
Gracielle Swanson
Payroll Specialist
Gracielle began working at The Dry Cleaner by Val in 2003 hanging and itemizing clothing. She has also worked on the tagging line and in delivery. Gracielle did not speak any English when she first started; over the years she has learned to speak the language fluently. Through working in various parts of the plant and the office, Gracielle has grasped the functionality of both facets and is currently a plant manager. She also works with the office to ensure operations run smoothly between the two divisions. Gracielle resides in North Reading, MA with her husband Richard, son Roy, daughter Sophia, and their dog Chooch.
Grace Rocheleau
Director of Business Development
Grace Rocheleau began her employment in 2003 at The Dry Cleaner by Val’s Malden plant, where she worked as a clothing itemizer. Like her sister Gracielle, Grace did not speak English when she first started. After itemizing, washing, pressing, folding clothing, and working as a plant manager; Grace began to work alongside Val in the company’s marketing division. Grace now travels throughout New England, meeting with the many adjusters and contractors we work with. Grace enjoys spending her time off with her daughter Ava and her son Johnny.
Kyle DiPanfilo
Operations Manager
Kyle started with the company in July of 2015. He now manages our fleet of loss coordinators and ensures that jobs run smoothly each day. Kyle recently received his Bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing from UMass Lowell, and works part time as a disc jockey with his father. His drive and ambition will help him learn new aspects of the business as his career develops within the company.
Dan Laundry
Claims Representative
Bringing with him over 20 years of experience in management, Dan joined The Dry Cleaner by Val in 2019. His exceptional customer service and technical know-how help serve Val's customers during challenging times. A former Northeastern Husky, Dan is continuing his education with a focus on Management & information Sytems. He's also an avid sports fan and enjoys spending free time with good food and good people.
Roxy
Senior Plant Supervisor
Roxana is our most senior plant supervisor and has over 15 years of experience in TDC. A natural leader and problem solver, she oversees our day-to-day plant operations, bringing a positive attitude and keen attention to detail to the company. Roxy makes sure our staff is up-to-date and informed and always keeps a close eye on the competition. She enjoys spending time with her family watching Netflix in her free time.
Shamara
Senior Plant Manager
Senior plant supervisor Shamara has over a decade of experience and knowledge of plant operations. She handles our plant personnel training and offers exceptional guidance and assistance where needed. When not offering guidance and insight at work, Shamara is active in her church and community, applying those same principles she has graced TDC with over the years.
Michael Parreira
Senior Loss Coordinator
Mike started with The Dry Cleaner by Val in 2015. As one of our most versatile employees, he is an expert at cleaning and rehanging draperies on-site as well as coordinating pickups. Mike enjoys upgrading his home and spending time with his wife and cats.
Andrew Carroll
Senior Loss Coordinator
Andrew has been solid as a rock-solid team member since 2019. As one of our Senior Loss Coordinators, he brings a laser focus to the job at hand with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy. In his free time enjoys spending time with his family and watching the Celtics.
Junior Hernandez
Loss Coordinator
Having joined TDC in 2020, Junior has been a solid member of the team as a loss coordinator. Junior has a keen attention to detail, excelling in situations that require extra attention and caution. Our resident DJ, JR enjoys spinning records at the premier clubs on the weekends.
Christian B
Christian has been our go-to collaborator since 2020. A Senior at UMass Lowell, he has spent his spare time pitching in wherever he is needed. He is always lending a helping hand when needed, especially in clutch time when a little hustle is needed. When he is not hitting the books, Christian B. enjoys snowmobiling and football.
Bella McDonald
Claims Representative
Bella has been with our office since 2022 and has brought an energy and work ethic that often go unmatched. As a claim representative, she ensures all our clients and partners are updated, informed, and pleased. Bella’s ability to listen, empathize, and inform our clients makes her an asset TDC is lucky to have. Her only deterrent from work is her self-diagnosed “Playoff Fever,” as she is an avid Boston sports fan.
Abigail Genthner
Abby joined the TDC team in 2022 and worked her way up to our billing specialist. She quickly developed the customer service skills needed to assist Val’s customers and adjusters on a daily basis. Abby’s attentiveness and enthusiasm is a key part to TDC’s daily operations.
Isaiah Perez
As our most recent addition, Isaiah brings charisma and energy to our team. His eagerness to learn and perfect our trade and his positive attitude bring a bright future to the TDC fleet. Isaiah's natural insight and compassion help support our clients in these trying times. In his free time, he enjoys Basketball and discovering new music.
